The transition from the Early to the Middle Bronze Age is underlined by an important evolution in weaponry. A number of comparable graves containing a very specific selection of weapons (daggers, socketted spearheads and fenestrated axes) are spread over a vast and particular geographical area: the Levantine coast, the middle Euphrates, the Diyala as far as the strait of Hormuz (with the exception of teh axes for this region). We put forward the hypothesis that semi-nomadic populations would have contributes to the spread of this weaponry. This corpus illustrates the beginnings of political control by bedouins societies enriched by a new know-how. There was the a social, rather than an actual, movement of these populations.
