Application of a dynamic urban model

Résumé

The dynamic model implemented by Peter Allen for simulating the variable economic development within an urban region is applied to the French agglomeration of Rouen. The system of differential non linear equations is presented and its calibration on the French case over the period 1954-1975. As a result the model appears as a reasonable tool for reproducing the observed evolution, excepted when large operations of urban planning did deeply change the urban structure in a way that is not predictable by the model.
