The chronology of the kingdom of Maʿīn has some grey areas. The date of its appearance on the political scene has long been debated, as much as the date of its disappearance. The history of the kingdom was first elaborated from the inscriptions found on the monuments of its two major sites, Maʿīn and Barāqish. Without removing all the grey areas, new texts have made it possible, over the last fifteen years or so, to expand the list of the sovereigns of Maʿīn and to improve the chronology. This corpus offers the possibility of compiling a list of 39 kings who reigned alone or in co-regency between the 8th and 1st centuries BC. Here we take up the list again, propose an orderly arrangement and attempt to put this list into an absolute chronology.
