Abstract : This text is structured in three parts in which we constantly go back and forth between our experience of creation, our reflection on the critical and recalcitrant status of the artist in society, on the vital need to give meaning to each of our artistic, political, ethical, pedagogical performances. In this supposedly post-pandemic period, the first part deals with the relationship between art and emergency; art allows us to resist the state and the imperative of emergency imposed by the power or the social context. In parallel and in reaction there is for the artist an emergency to create. It is then question of the potentialities, resources of the living, of the imagination, of the creation -in duet or in group- and of the desire. The norms structure our society but the desire to live and to realize, which gives a sense to what we do, contains potentialities which sometimes emancipate us from the established rules. Finally, the artist is presented as a nomad, crossing spaces of thoughts, truths, trivialities, territories, paradoxical stories to constantly thwart the rule.
