Concurrence parfaite et nombre d'agents
Résumé
The article studies the justification of perfect competition by the great number of agents. We show at first that the will to justify the price-taking assumption requires to propose a representation of market process alternative to the Arrow-Debreu model. We study then the Debreu-Scarf theorem, to show that, if one specifies the agents' information, the assumption of an infinite number of agents isn't necessary for justifying the competitive solution.
L'article étudie la justification de la concurrence parfaite par la présence d'un grand nombre d'agents. On montre tout d'abord que la volonté de justifier l'hypothèse de price-taking exige d'adopter une représentation du marché alternative au modèle Arrow-Debreu. On discute ensuite le théorème de Debreu-Scarf pour montrer que, si l'on précise l'information attribuée aux agents, l'hypothèse d'un nombre infini d'agents n'est pas nécessaire pour justifier le résultat concurrentiel.
